Although she is best known for presenting The Big Breakfast, for playing Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago both in the West End and on Broadway and for finishing as runner-up in the tenth series of the BBC One dancing show Strictly Come Dancing, van Outen has designed two collections thus far for the website, Very. The first collection was a maternity range launched in March 2010 and the second an autumn/winter collection. This is only a small reflection on her career, I could go on but I am too excited to get to the next bit…
In recent years, around the time that DVO wore our Esmaya Swimsuit on the island of Kandalou in the Maldives she was invited as a guest panellist on the ITV show Loose Women and in the week of 12th November 2014 Denise was featured in a double page spread for Hello Magazine talking about her career, home-life and new love Eddie Boxshall whom is still firmly in her life today. She looked every inch the iconic actress from a Holly wood era wearing our swimsuit and you could tell her happiness came from within, maybe we have Eddie to thank for that.
In 2015 Denise was playing the role of intelligent businesswoman Karin Smart in Eastenders, she was a natural and the accent she was born with fitted the part perfectly. Whilst her personal life continues to be the centre of attention Denise maintains a good work/family life balance with little girl Betsy who is every inch her Mothers beauty. She remains a regular our television screens and her appearance is as stable as ever in the British press. People love DVO because she is the girl next door. If you saw her in the street you know she wouldn’t be one of those celebrities who would turn the other way if asked for a moment of her time. I really like her personality and although I never did follow in her footsteps, choosing a career as a designer was made that little bit more special by having my childhood hero choose to wear my pants 😉

But that wasn’t it, I was in for one more treat, on the 8th of February 2016 Denise was papped on vacation in Barbados with Eddie strolling along the beach wearing my Sierra Halter-neck bikini. The press love to follow Denise and at the time the topic of conversation was Eddie! Although for the bikini World it was the Electric Blue number she was wearing and as the DVO effect has a habit of doing, the attention of our swimwear became centre stage once again thanks to Denise. I am not sure if I read this or made it up, but some years ago I was reading something in the press that Denise had supposedly said. Apparently Denise said she wasn’t happy with her boobs and wanted larger ones, so she kept thinking about it and they just grew! Now I don’t know how much of that is true and we all love the British press for spinning words into stories that sell, but if this were the case her thoughts were good…. Denise you rocked our swimwear and you look bloody amazing! Amen and thank you!
